Georgia graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts in International Development with an Area of Emphasis on Agriculture and Food Security in 2023. Despite growing up in Toronto, Ontario, Georgia has always had a passion for the ocean that was fostered through traveling with her family. Her interests lie in marine conservation, especially pertaining to marine mammals.
In September of 2023, Georgia started her Master of Marine Management degree at Dalhousie University. Her graduate project, supervised by Maxine Westhead and Patricia Manuel, is titled “Evaluating the ‘Conservation Standards’ as a conservation planning framework: A case study on the Inner Bay of Fundy (IBoF) Conservation Planning process.” This project aims to gain a further understanding of the challenges and successes of using the ‘Conservation Standards’ as a framework for conservation planning processes and aims to provide future IBoF conservation planners and practitioners with recommendations and best practices for conservation planning initiatives and processes.
