I have a PhD in seabed habitat mapping, and my past focus was on Arctic environments. My current research is based off the coast of Atlantic Canada and in the broader Northwest Atlantic region. I’m interested in exploring and applying emerging geospatial modelling and data science techniques to mapping benthic habitats at broad and local scales. Novel techniques for utilizing acoustic mapping technologies, and integrating deep/machine learning methods into the benthic habitat mapping workflow, present exciting opportunities for development in this field.

Areas of Expertise:

marine geospatial modelling

acoustic data analysis

statistical programming

GIS
