Marine Affairs Program Visiting Graduate Student Marine Affairs Program, Dalhousie University

Master of Coastal and Marine Management, University Centre of the Westfjords.

 

Alison is a visiting graduate student with the Dalhousie University Marine Affairs Program as she completes her Master of Coastal and Marine Management degree at the University Centre of the Westfjords in Ísafjörður, Iceland. She has completed a Bachelor of Community Development in Environmental and Sustainability Studies at Acadia University. She has also completed a certificate in Art Fundamentals at Sheridan College.

 

Alison is interested in peoples’ relationships with the natural environment. In her work as a research assistant with WP1.1, she hopes to explore local knowledge, focusing on how people in coastal communities understand, use, and interact with coastal and marine spaces. Her research will explore place-based knowledge from recreational and commercial users of coastal and marine areas around the Minas Basin.
