IAN CHURCH 

Ian Church 
Associate Professor
Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering, University of New Brunswick

Dr. Church is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering. He leads the Ocean Mapping Group and is the chair of the Canadian Ocean Mapping Research and Education Network (COMREN). He specializes in ocean mapping research and training with over 15 years of experience in the field. He holds a BScE, MScE and PhD in Geomatics Engineering from UNB and previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Marine Science with the Hydrographic Science Research Center at the University of Southern Mississippi (Stennis Space Center campus). He is a Professional Engineer in the province of New Brunswick and sits on the ACLS Canadian Hydrographer Certification Program review panel. His current seabed mapping research projects cover the east, west and northern coasts of Canada and include collaborations with government, industry, academia and defence sectors.
